about the creator
The brand Woolrich was founded in Pennsylvania by John Rich and Daniel McCormick in 1830. It specializes in manufacturing woollen garments for hikers, chasers and outdoor activities. The brand will also be chosen to provide blankets to American Civil War soldiers. In the beginning of the 20th century, with the interest in outdoor sports and activities growing, the brand imagines leisure wear. Former creations, such as the black and red Buffalo Check Shirt (1850) and the Railroad Vest (1890) are still bestsellers. However, in 1972, the brand designs the iconic Arctic Parka, a timeless classic, which can still be found in many closets. As of the 1980s, the brand exports its refined and practical apparel to European countries and will celebrate its 187th birthday in 2017... Probably not the last birthday for the famous trademark.
