PINK MAHARANI : THE JOY COLLECTION
JOY - FREEDOM - GRATEFUL

The brand pink maharani is well known for its handwoven cashmere scarves by fairly paid Indian artisans. During the pandemic, the ethical brand continued to support these artisans by granting a unique project: THE JOY COLLECTION.

In this particular period, co-founder Narmada Ramakrishna, and her team spoke to hundreds of people during the pandemic, among all the stories, exchanges, challenges and beauties they shared with pink maharani – three words stood out:

GRATEFUL:

gratefulness for what they have, instead of focusing on what they may no longer have.

FREEDOM:

to do what they care most about, instead of doing something that they don’t even like just to feel falsely secure.

JOY:

to find and see joy in what we may usually not see, such as in small things every day, instead of putting our attention on the negative things.

Pink maharani’s the JOY collection has been a three-year process in the making, from inception to finished product. The words JOY, FREEDOM and GRATEFUL etched in embroidery on the softest handwoven cashmere, combining the signs and symbols of our world. The embroidery itself, the most intricate and complex of its kind, a museum piece took no less than a year to complete. It is made by pink maharani’s master Kashmiri block printer and women embroiderers. When the world suffered insecurity and chaos, pink maharani strives to do something optimistic and promising. To give their artisans in Kashmir mental peace of mind, to feel secure by giving them work and a challenge. And to present the world something uplifting and unique. A total of 15 unique pieces were made. They will remain the most unique pink maharani collection thus far.
