Together with two designers and an optician, Kilian Wagner and Peter Käser set out to found innovative label Viu Eyewear in Zürich in 2013. It was their wish to create affordable, yet stylish corrective glasses and sunglasses, and to modernize the optical market at the same time thanks to their e-commerce site. The brand's first collection was composed of 14 different models for men and women available in different colours. Now collaborating with fashion brands and designers such as VOJD Studios, House of Dagmar, Closed and Saskia Diez, classic and timeless designs meet more edgy and fashionable creations. Viu's sunglasses are all designed in Switzerland, and handmade with care in Italy or Japan. The high-quality acetate or titanium frames are equipped with scratch-proof, anti-reflective, water and dirt repellent lenses, some of them from Zeiss. Always using the newest technology, the label also creates 3D-printed, ultra-lightweight and precise polyamide frames, ideal for sports. Today, Viu owns forty flagship stores across Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Scandinavia.
