German luxury goods company Montblanc's history began in 1906 with the association of three men after the discovery of the first fountain pen with integrated reservoir in the USA. The three of them, paper maker Claus Johannes Voss, banker Alfred Nehemias and engineer August Eberstein, first founded the company Simplizissimus-Füllhalter in Berlin, later known as Simplo Filler Pen Company, to reproduce this ingenious pen. The first Montblanc fountain pen was launched in 1910, enticing with its luxury design. The iconic logo representing the snow-capped peak of Montblanc and its six valleys was created in 1913. It was in 1924 that the signature black resin Meisterstück (German for master piece) fountain pen was launched. Montblanc still uses the name Meisterstück today for elegant collections composed of men's leather goods, cuff links and pens. Other collections followed, such as Sartorial, proposing messenger bags, wallets and belts for modern men made of saffiano leather, and Nightflight. The latter includes handy nylon and leather backpacks, large wallets and briefcases with a plethora of pockets, ideal for those who travel a lot.
