    about the creator

    Chloé

Since its foundation in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Chloé has been standing out. Far off the rigid codes of the contemporary haute couture scene, the label offers liberty of movement thanks to feather-light fabrics and breezy fits. Paving the way for fashion houses such as Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy, the brand is the first to propose "luxury ready-to-wear". Unlike custom made clothing, the latter can be worn straight away, only small adjustments are necessary. The revolution of luxury fashion is underway. A succession of brilliant stylists have worked for Chloé, starting from Gérard Pipart in 1958, followed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1964, and finally a certain Stella McCartney in 1997. All have contributed to the brand's development, just adding their personal touch. Having already imagined the dress Tertulia, Lagerfeld creates the violon dress in 1982. Around the millennium, the three designers Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon put the label's rise forth, ending with the first accessory line. From 2005 on, one style icon follows the other, starting with the unforgettable It-Bag Paddington, a bag all fashion addicts snapped up like hotcakes. Then come wood-heeled wedge shoes and the bags Marcie (2010) and Faye (2014). Get the chic boho looks and signature pieces for women and children in our Bongénie Grieder stores or on the e-shop.
